delilah is a woman of athletic build; she has muscular legs, but not overly so. she has slim arms, but that is no reason to take her lightly. she stands at barely five feet and four inches. delilah’s hair is a thick black mane; she never brushes it so it tends to have a wild look about it. her hair is always either up in a messy ponytail or hanging around her like a veil. her eyes are a piercing blue; they tend to change from grey to blue depending on her mood and the lighting. her is usually something simple like brown pants and a white shirt, if you can manage to get her into a dress it would be a shade of purple or blue. her form as a dog is a sleek, black husky. as a dog she stands at three feet tall on all fours, her fur is thick and tends to get matted. her eyes as a dog are the same blue as when she is a human.

delilah would much sooner sleep on the forest floor than a bed. she acts more like a wild animal than a lady from a well off family. her temperament is calm and calculating, though when with wild animals she is always smiling and joyful. people bring out the worst in her and tend to set her over the edge, making her jumpy and ready for a fight. she spent a year living as a dog among wolves in the wilderness and her personality was affected by it, before she was a happy young woman who had no problem being around people. she has always hated crowds, they make her feel suffocated and tends to politely excuse herself from the room to a less populated area or outside. she prefers to be called paddy, feeling her childhood petname of padfoot to be more fitting than her true name.

the kane's are a wealthy merchant family and have three daughters and one son. delilah is the youngest girl and the only one yet to be married. delilah's two older sisters were married at sixteen and one of them (the eldest, clarissa) has a set of twin girls whilst the other (the middles girl, anna) has no children. delilah's brother, antony, has had two wives and three children. both sets of delilah's grandparents died before she was born, before antony, the oldest, was born. delilah got along decently with her siblings, but none of them were truly close to her, nor was her father. they were distant emotionally with the exception of her mother.

delilah was born last of all of the kane children and was treated like a porcelain doll because of her tendency to become ill quite often. delilah found that she was able to shift at the age of four, surprising her nanny by turning into a black puppy. her mother found it immensely amusing, being a shifter herself. delilah's mother made the child promise to keep her gift a secret and paid off the nanny. delilah's mother trained the girl to control her gift and to blend in with both human and beast. at the age of twelve, when clarissa had been married a year and anna had newly been wed, delilah began to shy away from society in general, only her brother and mother could coerce her into going to the functions her father held on a monthly basis at their estate. at the age of seventeen her father tried to marry her to another merchant, the son of his partner; delilah refused and ran away, her father told her to never come back. so delilah survived in the wild only as a beast, she could do nothing for herself as a human and eventually stopped making the shift back. though she began to miss her mother and attempted to go home, but her personality was too wild, her eyes too beast-esque. so delilah left, only visiting once a year, living her life in the woods as a beast and woman.
