HER MAJESTY QUEEN NERIDA
WELL YOUR FAITH WAS STRONG BUT YOU NEEDED
PROOF YOU SAW HER BATHING ON THE ROOF HER
BEAUTY AND THE MOONLIGHT OVERTHREW YOU
I have the thread for the Court up, but it occurred to me that I didn't yet have a thread up for plotting with Nerida herself. So, here it is.

I'VE SEEN THIS ROOM AND I'VE WALKED THIS FLOOR
YOU KNOW I USED TO LIVE ALONE BEFORE I KNEW YOU

Nerida is generally seen as a kind and good-natured queen; any citizen of the Faerie Glen may seek an audience with her when she holds her sessions in which she receives them. Her close friends, however, are chosen carefully -- she is, if nothing else, a shrewd political mind, and those who she allows in are well aware of the exclusive group to which they've gained access.

Faeries, unlike humans, are, as a culture, generally more open about taking lovers before marriage. Since she is royalty, Nerida can be expected to do so, but is by no means required, and because of her beauty, her bed is empty more often by choice than by necessity. Since she rules by right of blood, Nerida does not by any means require a king to keep her crown.

Naturally, as a high queen, Nerida cannot be supported unanimously by her people. There are those who are more loyal to their local Duke or Count, who may be the same type of faerie as themselves, than to the unseen queen above them. And of course, there are a small few who seek to take the crown for themselves. All this is only within the Faerie kingdom itself; outside of it, there are still the humans and shifters to contend with, although Nerida considers the days to be sad indeed if they are enemies.
